Your first week with Owedex.
About an hour in all, spread over five days. Each step is a real screen, and each day has a picture guide you can follow with the made-up demo office before you touch your own claims.
- Today, 10 minutes
Open your office and look around
- Open your office with the one-time link, type your email, enter the code we send, and set up your passkey (your fingerprint, face or computer PIN). No password. Already have a passkey? Just sign in.
- Open the demo office (Open the demo, at the bottom of the menu): it's a made-up practice with every screen filled in. Start on Today, then open the Work queue.
- Run the free check on your own outstanding-claims report. It runs in your browser; the report never leaves your computer.
- Day 2, 15 minutes
Set Owedex to your office
- Settings → Time zone and Your day: your hours and when you want the 5 PM close.
- Settings → Letters: the signature, billing phone and billing NPI on every letter.
- Settings → People: invite your office manager or biller. Each person signs in as themselves.
- Day 3, 15 minutes
Sign the agreement, add your files
- We send you our HIPAA business associate agreement to sign. Owedex accepts real patient files only after it's signed.
- Add files: your outstanding-claims report, this month's insurer payment files (835), your PPO fee schedule and your bank statement. On Open Dental, connect once instead; it's read-only.
- Day 4 onward, every morning
Work Today's list, top to bottom
- Today lists the tasks in the order that brings the most money back: deadlines first, one call per insurer while its line is open.
- Open a task to see each claim and exactly what to ask or fix. Read and approve each letter; nothing goes to an insurer without you.
- At 5 PM, close the day and approve tomorrow's plan.
- End of week 1
See what came back
- Money to the bank shows each insurer payment matched to your deposit, and anything that never arrived.
- Results shows every recovered dollar and who brought it in, with an owner report that's safe to send.
